A 30-year-old Eritrean citizen was arrested on suspicion of brutally attacking his ex-wife, gagging her and raping her at knifepoint in his apartment in Petah Tikva.
The police said today (Sunday) that the suspect was arrested over the weekend, and his detention was extended today until Thursday.
The investigation began following a complaint submitted to a police station in the city, according to which a woman was severely beaten and raped at knifepoint when she arrived at her ex's apartment.
The forensic investigators arrived at the scene and collected evidence from the scene and arrested the divorced man.
