Manuel Bompard then admitted that his sentence could nevertheless imply that he did not take into account the idea, defended by activists of his current, of a "

continuum in terms of domestic violence

": "

I am not unaware not that it exists and that sometimes, often, perhaps always, domestic violence begins with a slap, and that it is from the first slap that you have to react

, ”he added, then specifying that a "

slap is violence, serious violence, unacceptable violence

" but that "

all the facts are not equal

Manuel Bompard also demanded again, like Jean-Luc Mélenchon on France 2 on Saturday evening, that the State pay one billion euros in subsidies to associations which fight against violence against women.

A measure already proposed by the deputies of rebellious France: “

we resubmitted this amendment in the amending bill this summer, but Gabriel Attal and his friends did not vote for it!

It doesn't matter, we're going to resubmit this amendment in October, I hope everyone will come together to vote on it this time,

” the MP continued.

Also asked about the gesture of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who grabbed the cheek of a Quotidien journalist trying to question him last week in the street about the Quatennens affair, Manuel Bompard sees only one “

teasing gesture

”.

I saw him make exactly the same gesture with Édouard Philippe, with the former president of Togo, what do you think is behind this gesture?

he told reporters, refusing to condemn him.
