Bad Heilbrunn has been looking for a new location for the forest kindergarten for a long time.

Apparently, the community found what they were looking for and is now waiting for the contract to be signed.

– The search for a location for the Heilbrunn forest kindergarten is apparently nearing completion.

The only thing missing is the contract signature of the property owner.

As long as this has not yet been done, Mayor Thomas Gründl does not want to reveal the place, "but it looks relatively good".

In the meantime, talks have been held with all those involved, including the hunters and the employees of the district office, the mayor said in the municipal council.

The mayor of Benediktbeur, Toni Ortlieb, also looked at everything.

Heiner Koch, chairman of the Albert-Schweitzer-Familywerk in Bavaria, explained the concept of the forest kindergarten to the councillors.

The establishment of the two communities Bad Heilbrunn and Benediktbeuern is the fourth and youngest forest kindergarten in the Albert Schweitzer family work in Bavaria.

In general, forest kindergartens are “very popular”.

According to Koch, they are attractive for the communities because, unlike conventional kindergartens, millions of euros are not required to be invested to get everything going.

The costs for building a yurt in the forest kindergarten are comparatively "manageable".

Due to the lack of solid walls, however, the current deficit is higher than in other facilities: "We have to look after and protect the children." This year the deficit is "surprisingly high".

The main reason for this is that suddenly fewer children went to the forest kindergarten.

Unresolved location issue unsettled parents

The reasons for this were explained by Manuela Stieglbauer, Assistant to the Upper Bavaria Division Manager.

At the beginning of 2020, the kindergarten was still fully occupied, and a corresponding number of staff had been hired.

The unresolved question of location then unsettled the parents.

The number of children cared for has decreased accordingly.

Nevertheless, the staff kept the family work, “because it is difficult to find someone in the care area”.

Apart from that, there are followers.

Stieglbauer therefore assumes that the kindergarten will soon be full again.

Koch is also convinced of this: "We are very confident that we can realize the new location and are approaching a stable situation."

Kilian Spindler wanted to know what the staffing situation is like in the kindergarten and whether inclusion children are cared for in Mürnsee.

"We move in a corridor of 9.5 to eleven children per supervisor," answered Stieglbauer.

A teacher, a nanny and an assistant are on duty.

They also take care of an inclusion child, for which three places are calculated.
