After the end of the public inquiry, which saw several cities come out against it, two environmental associations from Oise called for a r

After several years of preaching in a vacuum, the two associations assure it, the wall is cracking.

“Finally the politicians are moving a little, we must take advantage of it to turn the tide.

This Saturday, the Association for the development of the Esches valley (AAVE) and the Roso (Grouping of organizations for the protection of the Oise) brought together around a hundred people against the Chambly logistics zone project. -Beautiful Church.

While the public inquiry has just received more than 200 unfavorable contributions, i.e. well over 90% of the total, and five towns have come out against it, including the municipality of Belle-Eglise, the main area affected by this new area, environmental associations want to increase the pressure to try to cancel this project considered disproportionate.

“A democratic denial”

“Disappearance of agricultural land, landscape impact, increase in road traffic and pollution”, this area remains nonsense for the two associations.

More than 100,000 m² of buildings 14 meters high on 41 ha of natural and agricultural space are planned to house this private project but supported by the community of Thelloise municipalities.

“More than three times Amazon in Senlis”, assures Didier Malé, from Roso

Among those present, some residents worried, especially about traffic.

Le Roso estimates that this will bring 1,200 additional passages of heavy goods vehicles on the RD 1001. “While our school is located on this axis”, fears a mother.

Another denounces the lack of coherence of the communities.

"We organize workshops on bio diversity while validating this kind of thing, it's absurd", she complains.

Didier Malé du Roso, the Grouping of organizations for the protection of the Oise, and Alain Perrein, of the Association for the development of the Esches valley, are spearheading the actions against the logistics zone project of Chambly-Belle Eglise.

Deputy mayor of Fresnoy-en-Thelle, who came to represent his town, Didier Desprez is also worried about traffic.

“Beyond all the entirely valid ecological reasons, we had 17 accidents, including one fatal, on this axis, he is alarmed.

And this is only the tip of the iceberg, behind there may be expansions that will harm our living environment.

Only the municipalities of Puiseux-le-Hauberger and Chambly did not vote in municipal council on the subject.

"A democratic denial, most people don't know about this project, points out Christian Houpin", opposition municipal councilor in Chambly.

For the two association leaders, the continuation of their actions will go through collective action and a presence at the municipal council of Chambly, this Monday, but also at the community council of the community of communes Thelloise, this Thursday in Noailles.

“We must not remain alone but act as a group”, insists Alain Perrein, of the AAVE, who invites the inhabitants to get closer to environmental associations.
