A security source in the Donetsk People's Republic announced the disclosure of a network of Ukrainian intelligence agents who were preparing to carry out terrorist attacks in the republic during the referendum on the accession of Donbass to Russia.
The source stated, according to RIA Novosti agency, that the security men managed to arrest a while ago a resident of Volodarsky city. In addition, Vladimir Vysotsky, Chairman of the Election Commission of the Donetsk Republic, confirmed that the Kyiv authorities continue to spread fake and fabricated news about the referendum and are suffering from “hysteria” because they realize the extent of their impotence.
Vysotsky added: “We hear rumors from their side claiming that the results of the referendum are predetermined, despite watching how the referendum is being conducted on the ground. “.
He considered, "The threats of the Ukrainian intelligence against members of the electoral commission and the people who guarantee the holding of the referendum are like blowing into a punctured bag, stressing that the security forces are in full control of the situation and there are unprecedented security measures."
The referendum on joining Russia began yesterday morning in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions and will last for five days.
