Homs-Sana
The Animal Health Department of the Homs Agriculture Directorate recently launched two campaigns to vaccinate cows and sheep in the governorate.
Engineer Younis Hamdan, director of Homs Agriculture, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the Animal Health Department recently launched two campaigns, the first to vaccinate cows against “cow foot-and-mouth disease” and the second campaign to vaccinate sheep from “sheep pox” as part of the production plan of the Directorate of Agriculture and the Animal Health Department for the current year.
The Director of Homs Agriculture indicated that the plan included the vaccination of 90,000 heads of cows and 400,000 heads of sheep, noting that all the requirements of the campaign are free and the vaccine is free and safe.
Hamdan stressed that this campaign includes all the villages of the governorate and will continue for the months of September and October, pointing to the need for breeders to review the nearest extension unit to vaccinate cows against FMD and sheep against smallpox, as all veterinary technicians in the extension units carry out immunization operations during the specified period.
