The corona numbers in Bavaria have been rising again significantly for two weeks.

The autumn wave seems to be approaching.

The hotspots in Bavaria all have one thing in common.

Munich – It has been announced for a long time, now the time has probably come: There are signs of a corona autumn wave in the Free State.

The number of infections has been increasing significantly for a good two weeks.

On Saturday, September 24, the Robert Koch Institute for Bavaria reported a reading of 367.6.

For classification: That was almost 63 percent more than two weeks earlier.

The incidences in Free State are currently increasing much faster than in Germany.

Because there the increase within the last 14 days is just under 34 percent.

Corona in Bavaria: Autumn wave is imminent - front runner with an incidence of 961.6

However, this development is not only reflected in the incidence figures.

The State Office for Health and Food Safety also reported a total of 933 hospital admissions in connection with Corona within a week on Saturday.

For comparison: That is 31.2 percent more than a week earlier.

The occupancy of intensive care beds with corona patients has also been increasing again for some time.

With a value of 961.6 - according to the RKI - the district of Eichstätt is currently the leader in Bavaria.

It is followed by the city and district of Rosenheim with an incidence of 861.3 and 858.1 respectively.

These are also the highest numbers in Germany.

In both cases there is a connection with folk festivals - in Eichstätt the festival lasted from September 2nd to 11th, the autumn festival in Rosenheim ran from August 27th to September 11th.

There were also folk festivals in September in Passau, Kelheim and Freising, the districts with the next highest incidences in Bavaria.

Corona autumn wave in Bavaria: So far only a small influence from the Oktoberfest

Interesting: The Wiesn in Munich, which is considered the largest folk festival in the world, has only had a minor impact on the figures in the state capital.

At 311.2, the incidence in Munich is currently even below the Bavarian average.

However, it rose by a good 52 percent within a week.

This is faster than in the Free State as a whole, but far removed from the sometimes drastic increases that were observed at many other folk festivals.

However, this does not yet mean an all-clear for the Wiesn wave feared by experts: empirical values from other folk festivals show that waves of infection that have occurred there usually only become apparent in the incidence figures after a good one and a half weeks.

However, the Oktoberfest has only been running for a little over a week.
