Heavy traffic is expected today (Sunday) on many roads throughout the country in preparation for New Year's Eve dinners.
The police announced that the traffic department has completed its preparations for the holidays, including the deployment of police forces and mobile and motorcycle units in the area to direct traffic and allow free and safe movement for drivers as much as possible.
Also, the police emphasized that the enforcement of life-threatening traffic offenses will be increased, using a variety of overt and covert means.
The police called on drivers to be patient in view of the expected loads, to drive with extra caution and in accordance with the road conditions and to avoid distracting actions while driving.
Drivers of bicycles and electric vehicles were urged to avoid driving on interstates and highways.

At the same time, the IDF imposed a blockade on the territories as it does every year, and in addition raised the alert against the wave of terrorism in Judea and Samaria. Following the fear of terrorist attacks, the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Avi Belot, decided to change the exit method for soldiers for vacations, who will now stay 17 days at the base and four days at home, instead of 11 days at the base and three at home. Also, the IDF is increasing the security of the main roads, intersections, settlements and the seam line by combining police, MGB and Shin Bet forces.
