Today, between Geneva and St. Gallen, there will be a vote on the "People's initiative no factory farming in Switzerland".
The initiators want to include the dignity of farm animals in the constitution.
According to the opinion research institute gfs.bern, a majority was against it - "with a slight no trend".
On the other hand, the pension reform that is also being voted on received a majority approval.
It envisages raising the retirement age for women from 64 to 65 and thus aligning it with that of men.
The reform also includes higher VAT to increase the revenue of the pension system.
This is intended to secure pensions in the face of an aging population.
Voters must vote separately on both aspects of the pension reform.
If either complex is rejected, the whole package fails.
