RTL surprise: Guttenberg becomes Jauch's successor - together with Gottschalk

Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg is still remembered as Minister of Defense.
He resigned because of a plagiarism scandal.
Now he is celebrating his television comeback on RTL – with Thomas Gottschalk.
Cologne – At the end of each year, the annual review “People, Pictures, Emotions” runs on RTL.
Until last year, Günther Jauch (66) had always moderated this.
Now the broadcaster is relying on an unusual replacement: the ex-defense minister Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (50, CSU) is to take over the show on December 11 together with Thomas Gottschalk (72).

As RTL announced, Guttenberg is now under contract with the television station.
The broadcaster had already announced in June that the former defense minister would present documentaries on the RTL+ streaming service and lead through the programs as moderator and interviewer: “Zu Guttenberg will lead through two 90-minute docutainment programs as moderator and interviewer,” is it [called.
From November, viewers should be able to see the first format, the content is not yet known.

An unusual duo, about which RTL explained that the two represented "the wide thematic range of the show from entertainment to society to world politics".

Until 2011, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg was known in politics as Minister of Defense. At that time, he was considered one of the most popular politicians in Germany in polls.
The 50-year-old resigned at the time due to a plagiarism scandal involving his dissertation, and he was later stripped of his doctorate.
In the meantime, there have always been speculations about a possible comeback, but so far they have come to nothing.
