Citronix Group has announced that it is testing a new system dedicated to receiving and viewing Russian satellite data.
"We have started the trial operation phase of the (AIS) electronic platform that we developed to receive and preview data obtained from Russian satellites," RIA Novosti news agency quoted the company's press service as saying in a statement.
The statement added that the platform uses data obtained from official satellites and was launched within the framework of the Space-Pi program from the Baikonur cosmodrome on August 9, noting that these satellites are used to monitor maritime traffic and can identify ships in the seas and oceans and obtain information About the owner of the ship, specifying the ship’s location and course, and specifying the date by which it should reach its destination and the port it will reach.
The company, Citronix Group, had indicated earlier that it was cooperating with several Russian institutions with the aim of launching a group of satellites within the framework of the Space-Pi program and that some of these satellites would be used to observe the Earth and some of them would obtain advanced technologies to monitor the magnetic field of our planet.
