The Directorate of Agriculture in Daraa, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), began rehabilitating five water wells for the Green Belt and for plant production.
The head of the fruitful afforestation department in the Daraa Agriculture Directorate, Eng. Assaf Al-Asimi, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that works have started in the Kokaliya wells in Daraa Al-Balad and Al-Taybeh Giza. an umbrella.
He added that the two wells of Maktl Bint Al Badia, south of Daraa, and Nassib Al-Fayez, will be started as soon as the Al-Kukali and Al-Taybeh wells in Giza are completed.
And he indicated that the FAO is also supporting the rehabilitation of the well of the olive mothers nursery in Al-Yadouda, which is affiliated with the Plant Production Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, where the isolation work will be carried out with the provision of the necessary pipes, submersible and cable, with the installation of a solar energy system.
It is noteworthy that work on the Green Belt project in Daraa was launched in 1983 and included 19 villages and extended over 40 km in length and 10 to 15 km in width from Tel Shehab in the west to Umm Walad in the east.
