The story “Who Saved Planet Earth” by the Egyptian writer Raouf Wasfi, recently published by the Syrian General Book Organization and in the “Science Fiction Literature” series, brings us back to the stories of the space dwellers’ invasion of planet Earth and the intensification of the conflict to defend it.
The story begins with a comprehensive invasion of Earth by the inhabitants of space and the capture of what was left of them and taking them to an unknown place for the prisoners to live, the heroes of the novel, in a struggle for victory for their planet.
Through the novel, which is located in 151 pages of medium pieces, the writer provides us with a deep induction of the shape of the future and its inventions, and unleashes the world of imagination to delve into another world that makes the reader fly to hidden worlds.
And from what was said in the group: “As he climbed the nearby hill he seemed like a giant ghost heading into space. The man was worn out on the grass and felt that he was alone in frightening isolation, lost, a helpless creature, looking for a little remnant of calm.” The last words of the robot resonated in his mind. He still reverberates in his ears and fills the space around him and gives him some of the conviction that he has been deprived of for so long.
It is noteworthy that Raouf Wasfi is a contemporary Egyptian writer whose scientific formation contributed to directing his fictional writings towards science fiction tales. The American University in Cairo and Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad.
