The plastic artist Julia Saeed was able to express the deep and intense feelings that are going on in her heart, through which she expressed her love for the homeland and its soil and nostalgia for the Syrian heritage in all its details in her art exhibition entitled (Dust and Nostalgia) and hosted by Louay Kayali Gallery in the Arab Corridor in Damascus.
The exhibition included 30 paintings of different sizes using dirt and water technology, to embody women, horses, narrow alleys and alleys, and different emotional states for the female, in addition to her attempt to travel with the recipient through her paintings among the heritage of the Syrian governorates.
Speaking to SANA reporter, Saeed explained that her love for art is the result of her attachment to the land, as she is the daughter of a rural environment, as she comes from a spontaneous and simple family who taught her children to love the land and adhere to the soil of the homeland, indicating that she focused in her work on women in all their cases, so she painted the beautiful, dreamy and generous rural woman.
She pointed out that she also dealt in her works with the heritage of the Syrian governorates, such as the waterwheels of Hama, focusing on the smallest details and using the color gradations of the soil, which is what distinguishes this exhibition.
The head of the Syrian Plastic Artists Union, Irfan Abi Al-Shamat, explained that it is striking in this exhibition that the artist used real dirt, as she used in her paintings the soil of the homeland, which she brought from all governorates.
The Secretary of the Union of Fine Artists, Ghassan Ghanem, said that the exhibition carries with it new and distinct ideas and experiences in terms of technology, which is painting with dirt, pointing out that the artist's style is characterized by the use of color gradation with expertise and high technique, and expresses what she thinks through the dirt.
The plastic artist Ahmed Kamal expressed his admiration for the work of the artist Saeed, pointing to the importance of the material used, which is dirt, as it is something new and distinctive in the world of plastic art, pointing out that Saeed wanted to convey a message to the recipient that man is from dust, so she addressed him in this way.
The plastic artist Ruwaida Abdel Hamid praised the ideas that Saeed addressed, most notably the painting of the woman and the horse, as it expresses strength as a metaphor for strengthening the strength of a woman's personality.
