Super typhoon "Nuru" began today (Sunday) to hit the eastern side of the Philippines.

The storm could cause winds of up to 240 km/h.

The storm has already hit the Folilio Islands and, as mentioned, is making its way west to the main island - Luzon.

Forecasters warn that the super typhoon may cause floods and landslides in the capital Manila as well.

Residents in high-risk areas were asked to evacuate.

In the last day, the speed of the majority has increased by about 90 km/h, according to the AFP news agency. In the province of Quezon, in the east of the country, fishermen were forbidden to go to the sea and some areas were even cut off from electricity.
