Numerous bakeries and other industries are suffering from the consequences of the energy crisis.
An insolvency administrator gave an insight into his work.
Langenzenn – The energy crisis, a direct consequence of the Russian war of aggression against the Ukraine, is making things difficult for Bavarian industries.
Bakeries in particular suffer because they need a lot of energy to produce bread and the like.
Not only the ovens, but also the refrigerated counters consume electricity.
Bayerischer
Rundfunk
spoke to insolvency administrator Volker Böhm.
He currently has a good insight into a wide variety of companies.
Insolvency administrator: Bakery industry "particularly affected"
Böhm is currently looking for an investor for the “Goldjunge” bakery from Langenzenn near Nuremberg.
Because the bakery with around 300 employees had to file for bankruptcy.
The reason is clear: “The energy costs are certainly the trigger.
Because that's a dramatic increase in costs by more than ten times," says Böhm, who got a look at the shop.
But finding a buyer for the struggling bakery is difficult - who wants to invest in a badly troubled industry?
There is currently no improvement in sight - and according to
BR
, the insolvency administrator fears that if there is not a solution soon, other industries will also get into trouble.

Optimism in an emergency: Böhm sees opportunities
Most of the industries that are inherently energy consuming already have serious concerns – or are about to.
"We also have significant problems in the automotive supply industry," Böhm told
BR
.
However, he is optimistic that he will find a buyer or investor for the “Goldjunge” bakery – at least a glimmer of hope.
