It was built in the 19th century and is considered a lost place: the glass loop in Münchshofen in the Upper Palatinate.
The building has since been renovated.
Teublitz - Lost Places fascinate many people.
Old buildings, sometimes only remains, a lonely villa in the middle of the forest - what is the story behind such a place?
Also in
Neugablonz, a district of Kaufbeuren, there is an area that is considered a so-called Lost Place.
Nature has now reclaimed the "rubble area".

There is also a lost place in the Upper Palatinate: the glass loop.
The former glass grinding and polishing factory from the 19th century is located on the Naab, in the Teublitz district of Münchshofen (Landreis Schwandorf).
Mirror and window panes were processed there, as the district writes on its website.
Driven by powerful water wheels, wooden polishing tables ran around the clock on two floors.

The glass loop in Münchshofen was built in 1890/91, as the tour guide and local home warden explains when asked.
The polishing tables were in operation until 1953 "and belong to the only glass polishing plant in the entire Upper Palatinate that has been completely preserved at its original location," as the website further states.

Lost Place Glass Loop is now a museum - trace the path of the glass
In 2003 the building was renovated, some of the polishing technology was put back into operation and an exhibition set up.
Visitors can now experience how glass was processed over centuries and find out about the working conditions of the cutters as well as follow the glass journey around the world.
"Every visitor is captivated by the charm of the old walls," Franz Pfeffer told the

years ago .
At that time he was in charge of the renovation and guided visitors through the loop.
