Because of his work as an election observer of the sham referendums, the EWF from Waldeck-Frankenberg releases its managing director Stefan Schaller.

Waldeck-Frankenberg – In response to his work as an election observer during the illegal Russian sham referendum in Ukraine, the EWF bodies have released their managing director Stefan Schaller (63) with immediate effect.

This was decided unanimously in a special meeting of the committees on Monday morning, as reported by hna.de.

The supervisory boards of Energie Waldeck-Frankenberg (EWF) and the Verbands-Energie-Werk Gesellschaft für Renewable Energies (VEW) as well as the EWF association board met at short notice.

The majority of the council of elders and the district committee of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district had previously spoken out in favor of it on Saturday – and thus unequivocally positioned themselves politically.

"The behavior of the managing director clearly violates the world view, the moral values and the philosophy of the company, which resolutely rejects violations of international law and any form of violence," emphasizes the chairman of the supervisory board of the district's own energy company, district administrator Jürgen van der Horst, on behalf of all members of the relevant committees .

EWF and VEW from Waldeck-Frankenberg: Advising on the dismissal of Managing Director Stefan Schaller

The supervisory boards and management boards therefore spoke out very clearly in favor of the immediate release of the managing director - and at the same time clearly distanced themselves from Russia's illegal actions in Ukraine.

This should not only send a clear signal, but also avert damage to the company, which supplies around 90,000 households as a local energy supplier in Waldeck-Frankenberg, according to a press release from the district.

Due to the immediate release, the managing director has been released from his duties with immediate effect.

The EWF and VEW committees will discuss the dismissal in a timely manner.

The district announced that this was a formal path that had to be followed.

Perspectively, the future will then be decided in the management of the energy supplier.

Managing Director Stefan Schaller from Waldeck-Frankenberg as an election observer in the Ukraine

The fact that he was supposed to ensure law and order in the controversial sham referendums triggered international criticism at the weekend: Stefan Schaller, managing director of Energie Waldeck-Frankenberg (EWF), traveled to the occupied Zaporizhia region in Ukraine at the invitation of Russia as an election observer.

In interviews with the Russian media, Schaller said he was impressed by the “transparency” of the referendum.

Everything is very well organized and the population is enthusiastic about the vote, the TASS news agency quoted him as saying.
