Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei expressed his country's determination to respond forcefully to the confiscation of its property in Ukraine.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Maki said, "Information has appeared in the media that the Ukrainians have confiscated and nationalized the property of Belarus and Russia with a value of about one billion dollars, which is unacceptable... Depending on the development of events later, we will take this matter into account in our policy and if there is a need, we will go to the necessary courts. “.
Macy explained that Minsk has conducted a comprehensive analysis of all its property located in Ukraine and is ready to submit a request to the courts to recover the confiscated property there, adding, "Currently in Ukraine there are about seven thousand Belarusian vehicles worth about $355 million, in addition to other property."
The head of the Belarusian Railways, Vladimir Morozu, had previously announced that more than seven thousand Belarusian railway cars were stuck in Ukraine after the start of the Russian special military operation there, adding that their status was unclear and that the Kyiv authorities refused to discuss this issue.
