China today successfully launched a new remote sensing satellite aboard a Long March 2D carrier rocket.
"The satellite (Yaogan 36) was launched from Xichang Center in southwest Sichuan Province and quickly entered the planned orbit," Xinhua said.
The launch center said: "This operation is the 439th mission of the Long March series of carrier missiles."
