From now on, the citizens can have a say: What cycle paths will there be later on the air base site?
How will the citizens live and work there?
Fürstenfeldbruck - And what about species protection?
The first could already express themselves at an information market.
The public participation started with an information event on Friday and Saturday in the threshing floor of the Fürstenfeld event forum.
For three hours, Brucker citizens were able to bring in ideas and suggestions for the conversion of the air base.
info market
Before the information market started, the city invited to a press conference.
Mayor Erich Raff (CSU) described citizen participation as a very important building block on the way to the civil transformation of the air base.
Subsequent use is very problematic due to the many existing buildings, some of which are listed buildings, numerous FFH areas (Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive areas) and possible contaminated sites in the soil.
But many residents, some of whom still have a very close connection to the air base from their time in the Bundeswehr, could contribute their own suggestions that may have remained hidden from the experts so far.
Visitors to the event were given an overview of the topics on numerous display boards in the barn.
They were able to supplement this with their suggestions, such as for a road and cycle path network or ideas for local recreation and social infrastructure.
Other thoughts revolve around mobility around and on the air base or how to deal with listed buildings as well as the topics of nature and species protection or "working and living" at the air base.
Online Participation
And ideas can still be submitted: Online participation started parallel to the kick-off event.
Until October 14th, on www.brucker-stadtgespraeche.de under "Dialogue", not only Brucker but also citizens from the neighboring municipalities of Maisach, Emmering and Olching, for example, but also from the region, can express their ideas.
As the project manager of the air base conversion Nadja Kripgans-Noisser reported, it is firmly assumed that the Bundeswehr will withdraw at the end of 2026.
The next goal is the urban planning competition in order to have a first draft that corresponds to the guidelines.
The aim is to develop a mixture of living and working in the air base, a district with short distances that fits well into the region.
To this end, the dialogue with the neighboring municipalities was also conducted this year.
That wasn't easy in the past, says Kripgans-Noisser.
It has now been agreed with the mayors of the municipalities that the draft of the urban planning competition will be presented to the neighbours.
This gives the neighboring municipalities the opportunity to contribute areas and planning ideas.
