Clashes on the Temple Mount: rioters set off fireworks, suspects arrested Israel today

Tensions on the Temple Mount:

Early in the morning (Monday), several dozen rioters began shouting incitement and breaking the law in the area of ​​the Lions' Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, with some of them throwing stones at the police forces working to maintain security and order.

Police forces of the Jerusalem district arrested in the area during the act two suspects who threw stones at the forces, and worked to repel the troublemakers.

During the night, a number of young people locked themselves in the mosque on the Temple Mount, and in the morning, when the visits began, they began breaking the order inside the mosque by shooting fireworks intermittently from it.

Those rioters caused the desecration of the mosque and damage to it.

At this time, the visits to the Temple Mount continue as usual, alongside the prayers of the Muslims present in the area of ​​the Mount, and a short time ago the police arrested two suspects on suspicion of incitement and breach of order.

In the meantime, during the last few days, many false and untrue publications regarding the Temple Mount have been circulated on social networks, with the aim of agitating the area and inciting violence.

These are false publications designed to mislead the public and escalate.

The police urge the public not to listen to fake news and this wild incitement, which is mostly spread by hostile and vested interests on social media.

The police make it clear that there is no change in the practice that has existed for many years at the Temple Mount in the context of Muslim prayers or visits by Israelis and tourists to the site.
