Dienhausen – The village of Dienhausen has fewer than 200 residents.

But to bless two vehicles for the fire brigade and for the HvO Denklingen (helpers on site), a big party was held, the likes of which have not been seen in the small village since 1985, when the flag was consecrated at the fire brigade.

The highlight was the festival Sunday, when 500 fire brigade comrades and other visitors gathered after the church procession for the festival service on the meadow south of the village.

The altar stood on a small rise;

behind them the many flag deputations from the community of Denklingen and the Wehren, which had come as far as Unterdiessen and Altenstadt, lined up.

Father Joseph Mangalathukary, chaplain in the Fuchstal parish community, held the service together with Deacon Franz Bauer, emergency pastor in the Landsberg district.

Father Joseph donated the blessing for the vehicles after the mass, which was musically arranged by the choir "Spirit of Joy" with conductor Manuel Ambos.

Daniel Unsin, Commander of the Dienhauser Wehr, was pleased that the municipality of Denklingen agreed in 2019 to purchase a new portable pump vehicle logistics (TSF-L).

It is equipped with all-wheel drive and entered service in autumn 2021.

District fire inspector Alfons Düringer found that this vehicle was "necessary and useful".

This has already been shown in a serious traffic accident on the road between Dienhausen and Osterzelle.

Car for helpers on site

Claus Himml from the HvO Denklingen team mentioned that the car, a VW Tiguan, was delivered in May 2021.

Since then, 680 operations have already been completed.

The local helpers in Denklingen have been there since 2003, almost 20 years.

These are in use from Schwabsoien to the lower Fuchstal.

They provide first aid until the rescue service and emergency doctor arrive.

Mayor Andreas Braunegger emphasized the need to react quickly in medical emergencies.

Thanks to the on-site helpers, the time that was previously needed to travel from Landsberg or Schongau can be used in the minutes after an emergency.

Mayor Braunegger noted that the fire brigade in Dienhausen – the third in the municipality after Denklingen and Epfach – has existed since 1907.

In this long time she has gone out to many a fire and accident.

One has to consider that the comrades hold regular exercises and that the equipment also has to be maintained.

gate is still missing

The Dienhauser fire brigade currently has 25 active members.

Commander is Daniel Unsin.

Chairwoman of the fire brigade association is Eva Schneider.

After the service, she appointed three men who had made outstanding contributions to the military as honorary members: Matthäus Unsin, Anton Fischer and Max Ebner.

The vehicle hall also received the blessing of the church during the procession to the marquee.

It's not finished yet;

there are still no doors and gates.

But Deacon Franz Bauer gave the blessing to the garage in which the logistic portable pump vehicle will be parked in the future.

It is temporarily housed in one of Thomas Sporer's machine halls.

The new fire truck, which is longer and taller than the previous one, didn't quite have room in the previous fire station.

In the sermon, deacon Franz Bauer addressed the fire brigade comrades and the helpers from the HvO: "Through you, people in need experience a piece of the love of God." His message is passed on "completely handcrafted".

It is necessary to ask for God's protection.

Because helpers sometimes get into situations that cannot only be managed with new technology and on their own.

On the Sunday there was a small vehicle show, where the two new cars, but also other vehicles from the BRK Landsberg, the fire brigade from Denklingen, an old car from Hagenheim and a heavy fire brigade rescue vehicle from the Bundeswehr could be viewed.

blue light party

There was a celebration in the small marquee on the northern outskirts of Dienhausen on the two previous evenings, even though the weather changed on Saturday night and it rained heavily.

On Friday evening the blue light party was announced with the show band "Allgäu-Feager".

Almost 500 people came.

A day later, the Denklingen music club played in front of almost 400 guests at the Dienhauser Wiesn evening.

For dozens of helpers from Dienhausen and Denklingen, the big festival in the small village brought a lot of work and little sleep.

But this weekend will not be forgotten.
