At least eight people were killed and two others were missing as floods hit an area in the Venezuelan Andes on the border with Colombia.
"So far we have recovered eight bodies in this tragedy and we are continuing to search for two more people," said Freddy Bernal, governor of the western state of Tachira, as saying that the ages of the victims ranged between 12 and 25 years.
The authorities stated that Venezuela recorded more than average rainfall this year and incurred damages in several regions.
