The new crown pneumonia epidemic continues.
The Department of Health announced today (26th) that there were 4,034 new confirmed cases, 137 or 3.5% more than yesterday. Among them, 188 were imported cases, the highest in a single day since September 4th.
A total of 1,280 students and staff were infected with the virus, involving a total of 687 schools, and 29 individual classes in 26 schools had to be suspended.
The Hospital Authority announced that 12 new confirmed patients have died in public hospitals.
As of 0:00 am today, 2,039 confirmed patients were hospitalized for treatment, of which 161 were newly confirmed patients. Three critical patients and five critical patients were newly reported. There are now a total of 41 critical and 43 critical patients. Among them, 15 critically ill patients are receiving intensive care (ICU).
The press conference on the epidemic was suspended for the second day today, and the government explained the epidemic situation in a press release.

Schools report 1280 cases
Another 687 schools in Hong Kong reported positive cases, involving 1,280 teachers and students, including 1,116 students.
Individual classes in 26 schools will be suspended for 7 days, affecting a total of 29 classes.
In terms of residential care homes, 2 additional residential care homes for persons with disabilities have reported cases, of which 2 residents were recruited, and 18 residents were listed as close contacts.
