Oberallgäu district: mountaineer falls into the depths
Just last week, the long and desperate search for a missing 24-year-old at the Hochkalter made depressing headlines.
And even before that, there had been several fatal mountain accidents over the summer, for example when a hiker died in Mittenwald or two young climbers who fell to their deaths on the Tiefkarspitze.

A 63-year-old died in the Oberallgäu district.
According to a police spokesman, on Saturday, September 24, the man probably missed the start of a via ferrata near Bad Hindelang and was higher than planned.
There were no safety ropes either.
The climber probably wanted to return when he slipped and fell 75 meters, the spokesman said on Sunday, September 25.

A mountain guide then roped down a doctor who happened to be there to the scene of the accident.
However, this could only determine the death of the fallen climber.
The man was then rescued by the mountain rescue service.
