Festival costs explode: the mayor flinches – "I'm scared right away"

The memorial service for Harald Reents and the new poster on the front of the marquee caused extra costs at the Wiesn.

Mayor Josef Niedermair winced when he looked at the accounts for the Hallberger Wiesn: he hadn't counted on these 95,000 euros.

- The folk festival in April 2022 cost the municipality almost 100,000 euros.
In 2018 it was still 40,000 euros.
"I'm scared right away," commented Mayor Josef Niedermair (CSU) on the accounts for the 2022 folk festival that have now been presented to the municipal council.
Almost 40,000 euros were transferred to the landlord Alexander Tremmel – after deduction of the space rent, the return of the signs and the costs for electricity and water (7900 euros).
The calculation does not include the internal calculation for the building yard (10,800 euros).
Almost 10,000 euros were incurred for heating and ventilation.
Hallberger Wiesn costs almost 100,000 euros - even extensive corona measures are not cheap
The head of the municipality explained at the most recent council meeting why it became so much more expensive.
A site fence (around 6,200 euros) was erected and security deployed (7,000 euros).
In addition, more tokens than usual were issued, for example for guests of honor, employees and daycare staff, which is seen as compensation for the community's unusual Christmas invitations.

The memorial service for the deceased Mayor Harald Reents with numerous guests of honour, including from the partner municipality of Predazzo, also had an impact.
Added to this, Niedermair continued, were the general price increases.
In addition, a new banner for the rear wall of the tent has been designed and manufactured.
Cost point: almost 15,000 euros.
