He has just been appointed to this post on Monday on the proposal of the Prime Minister and will take office from October 3.

It's been more than two months since Didier Lallement abandoned his role as Paris police chief.

He has just found new functions after being appointed Monday in the Council of Ministers at the head of the General Secretariat for the Sea. Appointed "on the proposal of Prime Minister" Élisabeth Borne, he will take office "from October 3", next Monday, can we read on the report of the Council of Ministers.

Affected by two judicial inquiries

The General Secretariat for the Sea (SGMer) is an inter-ministerial body placed under the authority of Matignon, whose mission is to control, evaluate and coordinate the government's maritime policy.

Didier Lallement, 66, much criticized during his three and a half years at the Paris police headquarters (PP) for his deemed brutal management of the demonstrations, is the subject of two judicial inquiries concerning the maintenance of order during the "Vests yellow”.

The first was opened on August 31 after the filing of a complaint with civil action by two figures of the movement, Priscillia Ludosky and Faouzi Lellouche, who accuse him of having put them in danger by "nassant" them and preventing them from demonstrate in Paris in November 2019. The second follows the complaint of the ex-Yellow Vest Maxime Nicolle who denounces his "arbitrary detention" during his placement in police custody on the sidelines of the parade of July 14, 2019. Laurent Nuñez, former national coordinator of intelligence and the fight against terrorism, had succeeded in July to Didier Lallement at the head of the police headquarters.
