Do you want to go on holiday to sunnier countries in the cold winter?
Many long-haul travel destinations have now completely lifted their corona rules.
The cold autumn weather in Germany reignites wanderlust in many people.
Unlike in the past two years, vacationing outside of Europe is again much easier - numerous popular vacation destinations around the world have relaxed their corona measures or even lifted them altogether.
We have put together a small selection of long-haul travel destinations for which rules no longer apply.
Cape Verde
The government of the Cape Verde Islands lifted the state of emergency on September 15, according to the crisis warning service A3M.
As a result, international travelers moving between islands no longer need to provide proof of vaccination, recovery or testing.
Wearing a mask is also no longer required by law.

South Africa
South Africa completely lifted its entry restrictions back in June.
Previously, travelers had to present a negative PCR test or full proof of vaccination.
Until then, masks were also compulsory indoors and on public transport.
According to Health Secretary Joe Phaahla, the reason for the end of all measures was the steady decline in new infections and a small number of hospitalizations and deaths.
Namibia
Due to the steadily falling number of new infections, the popular African travel destination Namibia lifted its corona restrictions at the end of August.
Thus, travelers do not need proof of vaccination or a negative test to be allowed to visit the country.
This applies to all border crossings nationwide, as reported by the Reise vor 9
portal
.
The mask requirement has also been abolished.

New Zealand
With the onset of the corona pandemic, New Zealand closed its borders in March 2020 and has pursued a zero-COVID strategy for a long time.
The country only fully opened up again in July of this year.
The last measures were taken on September 13th: Vaccination is no longer compulsory for entry into the Pacific country and testing on the fifth day after arrival is only voluntary.
The mask requirement was also canceled – it should only be worn in hospitals and retirement homes.
"It's time to turn the page on our COVID-19 management and live without the extraordinary measures we took previously," Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said, according to the dpa news agency.

Mexico
Mexico is one of the few countries that did not take any measures during the corona pandemic.
Since travelers did not have to expect sudden entry restrictions, tourism in the country also benefited.
It is therefore not surprising that there is no 3G rule or mask requirement even now.

Costa Rica
Last year, Costa Rica drew attention to itself with a 1G rule for locals and tourists.
In the meantime, however, such strict measures have been abandoned: Since April 1, entry has been possible without the so-called Health Pass, and unvaccinated tourists no longer have to take out international health insurance.
The general mask requirement for closed rooms has been lifted, a face mask only has to be worn in medical facilities, as the Federal Foreign Office informs.
