South Korea and the United States today launched joint naval exercises, in a new provocation that contributes to destabilizing peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and threatens the sovereignty of the DPRK.
In a statement reported by Agence France-Presse, the South Korean Navy considered that the exercises demonstrate the "strong alliance between South Korea and the United States", claiming that they are in response to "moves" from Pyongyang.
The maneuvers last for four days and involve more than twenty ships, including the US aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan, as well as large air facilities, and include simulating naval combat, confronting submarines as part of tactical maneuvers, and other naval operations, according to the Navy.
