With the participation of five Arab clubs and three Syrian clubs, the Arab Championship for Cycling Champions Clubs will start in Lattakia, which is held by the Cycling Union in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, the day after tomorrow, and will continue until next Saturday.
In a statement to SANA, the head of the Cycling Union, Khaled Kokash, explained that the clubs participating in the championship are a club from Palestine, another from Egypt, and three Iraqi clubs, in addition to three Syrian clubs, namely Al-Muhafaza, Barada and Lattakia Club, revealing that an Emirati club and two Libyan clubs have apologized for their participation, knowing that all administrative procedures From visas, reservations, accommodation and transportation that were secured earlier for all participating delegations.
Kokash added: The upcoming tournament is the tenth for males and the first for females, as its competitions include three stages: teams against the clock, individual against the clock and general singles, which will start and end on the Latakia-Aleppo highway.
The President of the Cycling Federation indicated that this tournament always enjoys wide participation, and we have obtained the approval of the Arab Federation for the game for the participation of young players in the higher categories in order to give them more experience, as it is an important opportunity to exchange skills between Arab players.
After the end of the championship, the activities of the Tishreen International Trail Race will start in Lattakia as well, with local, Arab and international participation, next Monday in Lattakia as well.
It is noteworthy that the top ten in the ranking of the Arab championships will receive international points that will help them qualify for the world championships and the Olympics.
