After the controlled detonation of a World War II bomb in Berlin-Moabit, the authorities lifted the restricted area around the site.
The police announced this on Twitter on Monday.
A police spokeswoman said that residents could return to their homes and traffic could start again.
According to the authorities, around 9,000 people had to leave the area.
Berlin – S-Bahn traffic on the S41 and S42 between the Beusselstraße and Westend stops had been discontinued, and the M27, 106 and 123 bus lines were also affected by the closures.
The 50-kilogram bomb of American origin was found during construction work on Sickingenstrasse west of Beusselstrasse.
It had to be defused on site because the detonators were damaged.
