The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lugansk People's Republic, Vladislav Denigo, announced that the Ukrainian forces bombed the territory of the republic during the first three days of the referendum with 62 American Hemars missiles.
"During the three days of the referendum, the Ukrainian forces bombed cities and towns in the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic with 62 US HIMARS missiles," RIA Novosti news agency quoted Dinego as telling reporters today.
In this context, Elena Kravchenko, head of the Central Elections Committee of the Republic, announced that Kyiv forces bombed a school in the town of Robyzhny, where a referendum center is located, and hit it with six shells, adding that, in order to preserve the security of citizens, all committees were transferred to reserve locations.
Last Friday, in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, a popular referendum on the question of joining Russia began, and voting continues until tomorrow.
The representatives of the two republics and two provinces affirm that the completion of this step will secure their lands, especially amid the ongoing terrorist and aggressive acts by the Ukrainian authorities and NATO, which supplies them with weapons to kill civilians.
