In her victory speech, the leader of the "Brothers of Italy" party sought to thwart any attempt by the Italian president to avoid putting the formation of the next Italian government on her.

The winner of the Italian elections, the leader of the right-wing nationalist "Brothers of Italy" party, Georgia Maloney, stated early Monday morning that the Italian voters sent a clear message with their vote in favor of the establishment of a right-wing government led by the "Brothers of Italy" party.

With this statement, she sought to thwart any attempt by the Italian president to avoid imposing the formation of the next Italian government on her.

"This is the moment of responsibility," Maloney said in a calm victory speech, in which she asked her fans to wait for the final results of the vote count, which continues at these hours.

"We need to understand the responsibility that millions of Italians have placed on us, and it is important to understand that we must govern for all Italians.

We proved that the impossible is possible.'

In a tweet she posted on Twitter, Meloni wrote: "Today we made history.

This victory is dedicated to all the activists, leaders, supporters and everyone who contributed in recent years to the realization of our dream.

We will not betray your trust.

We are ready to act for the revival of Italy.'

Electoral achievement

According to the first results of the vote and the television samples published when the polls closed at midnight Israel time, the post-fascist "Brothers of Italy" party won about 26% of all the votes cast.

In the previous elections four years ago, she received only 4%.

The party's electoral success came mainly at the expense of its partner in the center-right coalition, Matteo Salvini's "League" party, which dropped from 17% in the previous elections to 9-10% in yesterday's elections.

The third senior partner in the coalition, the "Forza Italia" party of former prime minister billionaire and media tycoon Silvio Berlusconi has also weakened.

According to the current vote count, the right-wing coalition received about 43% of all voters' votes and will probably have an absolute majority in both houses of parliament - the parliament and the senate.

The left-wing coalition led by the Social Democrats is expected to receive about 26%.

The left-wing populist party "Five Stars", which won the elections four years ago, received about 15% and the Center Party, led by two senior retirees from the Social Democratic Party, received about 8%.

The leader of the "Five Star" party, former prime minister, Giuseppe Conte, accused the leadership of the Social Democratic Party of being responsible for the victory of the right.

The turnout was extremely low: 63% compared to about 72% four years ago.

The main rival of "Brothers of Italy", the social-democratic "Democratic Party", admitted its defeat in the elections.

"It's a sad day for our country," said Deborah Sarchiani, chairwoman of the party's faction in the outgoing parliament.

Sovereign right-wing parties in the European Union countries rushed to congratulate "Brother Italy" and the Italian right-wing coalition on its victory in the elections.

A senior advisor to the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, tweeted: "In these difficult times, we need more than ever friends who share a common vision and a common approach to the challenges facing Europe."

Jordan Bardella, chairman of Marine Le Pen's "National Convention" party in France, wrote: "The Italians gave a lesson in modesty to the European Union that tried to dictate who they should choose.

Threats cannot stop democracy: the peoples of Europe raise their heads and take their destiny into their own hands.'

Bargela referred to the words uttered on the eve of the elections by the President of the European Union, Ursula von der Leyen, who stated that the European Union has measures in hand if Italy turns in the wrong direction.

Spain's national right-wing party, Vox, responded to the election results by saying that Italy is sending a message of a new Europe, a Europe of free sovereign nations.
