Bavaria's Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter has responded in writing to a letter from Starnberg.
It is about the plan change procedure for the B2 tunnel
Starnberg
– The chairman of the Starnberg environmentally friendly traffic relief association, Dr.
Jürgen Busse received mail from Bavaria's Minister of Transport, Christian Bernreiter.
With the letter, the CSU politician is responding to a letter from Busse from mid-August, in which the man from Starnberg had called for more speed in the plan change process for the B 2 tunnel.
After reading the letter, Busse was confident: "I see in the minister's assurance that the state building authority will complete the hydrogeological report as quickly as possible and in close cooperation with the water management authority, a commitment by the state government that things are now moving quickly," he explained on Sunday opposite the Starnberger Merkur.
As reported, the plan change procedure was initiated in the summer of 2020 as there were some changes to the approved tunnel plans.
This is not about the tunnel itself, but about ancillary facilities and changed specifications and other culverts for groundwater diversion.
In this context, the water management office in Weilheim requested a large amount of data from the state building authority and asked a whole package of questions.
The plan change procedure has not yet been completed - which, according to Busse, "unfortunately has a significant impact on the construction progress, the construction costs and the completion of the tunnel".
In his reply to Busse, Bernreiter writes, among other things: “The Starnberg Tunnel is a very important project.
Only with the Starnberg Tunnel can the existing through-traffic in Starnberg be relieved of through traffic and the traffic conditions on the B 2 significantly improved .
He can assure buses that both authorities will work closely together to complete the hydrogeological report as quickly as possible "so that the government of Upper Bavaria can complete the plan change process".
In his letter, which is available to Starnberger Merkur, Bernreiter does not name a year when the tunnel should be finished.
