A shooting broke out on Monday in a school in Izhevsk, in central Russia, the Interior Ministry announced.
There would be several victims among the children and the suspect would have committed suicide announces the governor of the region.
The ministry evokes at least six dead and 20 injured.
"Today the police received a message about a shooting at school No. 88 in Izhevsk," the Russian ministry said on Telegram, adding that "the police immediately went to the scene."
"Measures are currently being taken to apprehend the suspect," added the same source.
According to the Russian agency Tass, students and teachers are being evacuated, while the governor of the region went there.
"I will quickly report what is happening," he said on Telegram.
The school has nearly a thousand students and 80 teachers.
