“A Journey Between Science and Literature” Dr. Muhammad Amer Mardini talked about - in a rare case - following the example of many writers who work mainly in medicine and applied sciences such as Abd al-Salam al-Ajili in Syria, and internationally, Doctor Chekhov, who became famous, and his name was associated with literary figures in the whole world, They were not directly related to literature, but their literary productions appeared in a wonderful way.
This trip was the title of the lecture hosted by the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rummaneh, delivered by Dr. Mardini, and presented by Mazen Hammour. Mardini pointed out that he made the lecture held by the Directorate of Culture and the Damascus Friends Association a real journey between science and literature because he had cut long stages in the educational and official academic ranks, which gave him Academic momentum, and brought him into direct contact with literature, especially as he loves literature, and excels in being a short story writer in satirical literature and has four short story collections.
Mardini touched on the definitions of science and literature, and the best way to combine them to highlight a special flavour, as it is a talent that appears among people who have linguistic and literary integrity, and they are first-class readers as a result of the many literary readings on a wide range, especially by famous thinkers and writers in medicine, engineering and military sciences.
Mardini stressed that the importance of these seminars lies in acculturation, listening to the other and developing personal knowledge and perceptions through the discussion that takes place within them, and contribute to creating a distinctive cultural atmosphere, pointing out that the Friends of Damascus Association holds various cultural and dialogue seminars periodically.
