Damascus, SANA- The Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushouh, discussed with the head of the Association of Culture and Islamic Relations in Iran

The Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushouh, discussed with the President of the Association of Culture and Islamic Relations in Iran, Muhammad Mahdi Imanipour, the development of cultural relations, expanding their horizons, means of cooperation in all cultural fields, and exchanging cultural products and experiences between the two friendly countries.

Dr. Mashuh pointed out that the Iranian Cultural Week in Syria is a first step for stronger cultural relations between the two countries, stressing the importance of expediting the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries, which have close historical relations steeped in history for civilizations that followed on their lands and provided a lot to humanity.

For his part, Mahdi Pour noted the importance of the relations between the two peoples and the Syrian and Iranian governments since ancient times, which were mixed with the blood of the martyrs, explaining that the launch of the Iranian cultural week in Syria in a few days will constitute a window through which the Syrian people will view Iranian culture and civilization, stressing the Iranian side's readiness to develop relations with Syria in all artistic and cultural levels.

The two sides discussed the possibility of working on establishing Persian language courses in Syria, teaching Arabic in Iran, cooperating in the field of cinema, theater, art and translation, hosting book fairs, cultural weeks and festivals in both countries, exchanging band leaders and benefiting from Iranian cinematic experiences in holding workshops. For students of the Higher Institutes of Cinema and Theater in Damascus, and they also discussed the possibility of reopening the Syrian Cultural Center in Tehran.

The meeting was attended by Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Mahdi Sobhani, Cultural Counselor Dr. Hamid Reza Esmati, Director of Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Culture Ziad Maiman, and Nada Al-Husseini, Director of Planning and International Cooperation.
