The State will recruit nearly 11,000 civil servants

For 2023, the government plans to recruit 10,764 full-time equivalents for the State and its operators.


It's a radical change of foot.

Admittedly, the objective of reducing the workforce in the public service targeted by Emmanuel Macron at the start of his first five-year term - the elimination of 120,000 positions - has long since been thrown into oblivion.

With the crisis of the "yellow vests" which demanded more public services then that of the Covid-19, the State had quickly given up cutting into its troops.

It is no longer even a question of achieving stabilization, even if the government denies it.

The public finance programming law, presented on Monday with the finance bill for 2023, provides "

black on white

" for the stability of the number of public officials by the end of the five-year term in 2027, underlined the Minister of Public Accounts, Gabriel Attal.

Suffice to say that the project is postponed indefinitely, and so much the worse for the Cassandres who are crying over administrative obesity and public finances which are sinking into bright red.
