At the halfway point of this year's Wiesn, there were a little fewer people than usual, but the atmosphere, especially in the tents, is actually the same as ever after the two-year Corona break.
Even the bad weather doesn't spoil the party-goers' spirits.

is now showing the madness of the Oktoberfest – and giving an insight into the emotional world of the guests.

In the Hofbräu marquee, things are going as usual.

shows how things are in the tent, which
is popular with tourists.
It becomes immediately clear: neither Corona nor other crises prevent people from celebrating here.
"Corona doesn't give a shit!" is how one guest sums up the mood in the tent.
But the pandemic does not seem to prevent other people who have their say in the post from celebrating.
"Feels like it used to, feels like every Wiesn," explains another guest.
"A great atmosphere and great people is more important," explains another party-goer in relation to the pandemic.

For a group of young people, some of whom are at the Wiesn for the first time, celebrating together feels great, as the report shows.
They also like to cope with the high beer prices, as they tell the broadcaster.
Then, when the tent band plays "Layla", there's no stopping the group: With a jerk, they go onto the beer benches to sing the hotly debated Oktoberfest hit together.

The corona numbers in the city of Munich have not yet risen as much as feared.
However, most experts warned of the increasing number of infections before the tapping.
For most, however, this was no reason to cancel the festival, because it is important whether the increasing incidences also affect the health system, and this is not to be feared.
It is to be hoped that the virus can be kept under control in the second half of the Wiesn so that partying on the Theresienwiese does not result in a lousy hangover.
