The Freising Family Center has presented its new seminar program.

It addresses the current fears and worries of parents and children.

Freising

– In a press conference, the family center presented its revised program for the period from September 2022 to August 2023.

In addition to the around 300 proven and popular offers, new courses and seminars have been included in the program booklet that address the current troubled times and support parents who are concerned about their own fears and worries and who also have to deal with the sensitivities of their children.

The family center, which operates across the district, wants to create a stable, emotional foundation with its offers so that parents can stand on their own and take good care of themselves.

Parents or single parents should get suggestions on how to create happiness, spread lightness, provide security and strengthen bonds.

For example, an online lecture on the topic “Lessons from the pandemic – what children need now” is offered.

Caution stress trap!

The well-known pediatrician and scientist Dr.

Herbert Renz-Polster goes into the traces that the pandemic has also left in children, such as insecurities.

He explores the question of how children can be strengthened and what they should be given as “provisions” and what else counts in the children's lives.

"Happy Family: Or how the addiction to attention rushes us into the stress trap".

The lecture and discussion will deal with the thesis, among other things, that the desire to get attention and appreciation for the exhausting family work drives mothers in particular into the stress trap - with WLAN in the delivery room, theme parties for birthdays, everything based on Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp.

Bianca Kellner-Zotz uses examples to show the extent to which the attentional regime has crept into people's lives and encourages them to reflect on their own behavioral patterns.

The online event on May 11, 2023 from 8:00 p.m.

The Bavarian speaker network of the Media Education Foundation provides insights into the media world of children and young people aged 10 to 14, for example how they use media content and how parents can support and support their children in dealing with media - including bullying and harassment.

There is no course fee, but registration is required.

What to do when children don't want to eat?

"Honey, you're annoying" is aimed at couples.

On April 22, 2023 (2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), mediator Rosi Esterhammer will show ways in which a partner who is “annoying” can be understood again, or how to take pressure out of a conversation.

The online course “No, I don’t like that” also offers important help – eating with children on October 8, 2022 and April 29, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The course fee is 20 euros.

Jasmin Felsl, graduate consultant for infant and child nutrition, explores the question of how a child's aversion to certain foods develops and shows what parents can do if their children don't want to eat.

Interesting for young parents: what influences the sleep of babies?

Tips on typical childhood illnesses are given in the lecture “Runny nose, scratchy throat, nights of coughing – accompanying sick children naturally”.

Practical exercises on the subject of home remedies, wraps and liniments as well as an exchange of experiences are included.

Speaker is Martina Meyer, health and child care worker, PTA.

The course will be offered on October 22, 2022 and June 17, 2023.

On January 17, 2023, in the course “Baby Sleep – The Way to Peaceful Nights”, educator Andrea Dannhauser explains why babies wake up so often, don’t want to lie alone in their bed, and what needs and biological reasons influence babies’ sleep.

"Elmo" is coming

A “group for single parents”, which meets once a month, always on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with children in the parental home, completes the new offer.

And: Parent support in the district also comes to the countryside: with "Elmo", the mobile for parents.

In her minibus with a high roof, Veronika Unterreithmeier has an open ear for all parents and offers educational expertise on how to best support children and relieve the family.
