Relief, yes, but not with cheap local transport tickets: A few days before the relief summit, the president of the municipal council turned angrily to the Federal Chancellor.
Abensberg - Shortly before the relief summit of the federal and state governments on Wednesday in Berlin, Bavaria's mayors warn of false incentives at the expense of rural areas.
The president of the community day, Uwe Brandl, calls for a change of course for cheaper local transport tickets.
In a letter to Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), the 62-year-old expresses his anger.

Above all, Brandl criticizes the 9-euro ticket and the considerations of somehow continuing it.
“While metropolitan areas use subsidized tickets to shape their leisure activities, commuters who rely on their vehicles are charged 30 cents per kilometer,” he writes, referring to the commuter flat rate, which is between 30 and 38 cents.
Employees subject to social security contributions should “feel like the milking cows of the nation”.
Brandl calls for higher mileage rates and for energy taxes to be avoided as far as possible.
The federal government should think about how it is affordable in Austria and Italy to have up to 40 cents lower prices for diesel and petrol.
He warns that energy cost trends are polarizing.(
