The fifth season of "The Crown" is preparing for its premiere on November 9, with Imelda Staunton in the role of the queen.

While production on the sixth season of "The Crown" was briefly halted following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the fifth season is set to premiere on November 9.


When the popular series returns to Netflix, Imelda Staunton will take the baton as the queen, portrayed by Olivia Colman in seasons 3 and 4 of the royal drama.

According to Netflix's description, season 5 focuses on the queen "approaching the 40th anniversary of her accession."
