Occupied Jerusalem-SANA
Dozens of Palestinians in the city of Nablus in the West Bank demanded, during a solidarity stand today, the international community and human rights and humanitarian institutions to intervene urgently, to save the lives of prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons, especially patients and hunger strikers.
Wafa Agency stated that the participants in the stand organized by the Palestinian National Forces, in cooperation with the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Prisoner Club, raised the Palestinian flag and pictures of the thirty prisoners who are on an open hunger strike for the third day, and a picture of the cancer-stricken prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid.
The participants stressed the need to continue supporting the prisoners, and solidarity with them in light of the violations and brutal practices they are subjected to by the occupation authorities, as they are an icon of freedom and suffer deliberate medical neglect against them, continuous torture and deprivation of their most basic rights.
Dozens of Palestinians participated in the city of Al-Bireh earlier today, in a stand in support of the Palestinian prisoners who are on hunger strike, in protest against the continuous crimes of the Israeli occupation against the prisoners.
About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including about 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
