It has become quiet around the Schliersee citizens' car.
The non-profit project, with which the initiators Florian Pschierl, Boris Tylla and Philippe Bertrand Schlierseern wanted to open up a low-income alternative to individual mobility, has disappeared from the scene after its public launch in summer 2018.
Since donations were also made for the citizens' car - Bertrand reported in May 2017 of over 8000 euros - our newspaper tried to clarify the current status.
Not an easy task: the website of the community car no longer works, e-mails to the official address come back as undeliverable.
The last post on the Facebook page dates from 2018. Nobody answers the cell phone numbers of the initiators known to our newspaper.
Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer has also not heard from the project for a long time.
Klaus Pusl, head of the Pusl car dealership in Schliersee, can explain.
He had made a second vehicle available to the Bürgerauto, with which they wanted to offer classic car sharing for everyone, not just for the financially weak.
"The car was never borrowed," says Pusl now.
The rest of the project was also discontinued.
But he doesn't know exactly either.
The car dealership owner finds the end of the citizen car project a pity anyway.
The idea was praiseworthy and started with the best of intentions.
Should anyone want to start a similar project with a new concept, they would be happy to provide advice and support.
