“The World in the Language of Saz”, the title of Doctor Hoshank Habash’s first musical evening to achieve his dream after twenty-seven years and play his instrument that he is unique in playing to enchant the audience of the drama theater at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

The evening was replete with songs from Arab and foreign countries that included the pleasure of diversifying between popular, classical and Arabic plays, in addition to musical pieces composed by Habash, who made them fixed stations that he returns to between song and song.

“Hakim El-Saz” began his evening with “Sukoon”, which was the first stop from which he led his fans to his magical world, and then traveled with them to the world of Mohamed Abdel-Wahab with the song “Madnak”, and returned to another piece of his composition called “Remembrance”, and from there to music. And Wheat” and some improvisations by the Lebanese composer Ziad Rahbani.

The folklore that characterizes the saz instrument had a beautiful stop on Hoshank’s journey, where he took the audience to the heritage of the Syrian island and returned to his compositions with the piece “My Mother” which he dedicated to his mother’s soul, in addition to musical selections by Umm Kulthum and the wheel of the Hijaz by Mustafa Kandari and two pieces, one from India and the other jazz.

In a statement to SANA, Habash said: "I cannot describe my feeling on this day, which I drew the path to in my mind a long time ago, to reach the first step towards achieving my ambition and delivering a musical message in the language of the saz with which I was raised."

The saz player pointed out that this evening is alien to the concerts that are presented at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts, as it is the first time that the saz instrument has a special party in which it captures the lights and tells of multiple musical languages ​​and musical styles that combine oriental and Indian melodies, jazz music and Tarab schools, in addition to Syrian folklore. .

Hoshank participated in his evening with Ali Suleiman on the piano keyboard, Hassan Nader on the violin, on the bass guitar Muhammad Jamal and Faris Al Dahan on drums, and on the percussion Imran Abu Yahya and Shafiq Yaghi, who formed a musical chemistry that attracted the audience to them.

And the percussionists Shafiq Yaghi and Omran Abu Yahya indicated that the preparation for the evening began a month ago, so that this concert would serve as a stimulus for them to show their talents to the audience, expressing their happiness with the formation of this band whose members gathered on love, and harmony and harmony appeared between them clearly.

Hoshank began his artistic career in the city of Aleppo and studied in its conservatories and learned to play the stringed instruments “saz, paglama, and arabic bouzouki” under the supervision of his father, the saz player Aref Habash. He holds a human medicine degree at Aleppo University before moving to Damascus to complete his medical studies in the capital’s hospitals The field of plastic surgery, in addition to following up the artistic career by lighting the saz in all musical platforms.
