The Frauenbund Haag celebrated its 50th anniversary with a festive service in the parish church of St. Laurentius and a cozy get-together in the Café Ampertal.
Haag
- The 180 women in the local chapter of the Catholic German Women's Association have been involved in society, society and the church since 1972. Maria Huf was the driving force behind the founding at the time, recalled chairwoman Marianne Schwaiger.
She tirelessly went “from house to house” and campaigned for women to unite.
We then started with 73 like-minded people.
In a "good year", as Mayor Anton Geier emphasized.
The role of women changed back then.
Until the late 1960s, the Civil Code stipulated that a man's signature was required if a woman wanted to work.
It was not until the early 1970s that a married woman was considered to have legal capacity.
Pastor Andreas Schauer gave the women special praise.
Only in Haag did he really get to know and appreciate the importance of clubs.
And by the women.
They looked beyond the village.
They are not only involved as a "pious church association", but are also socially and politically active.
What he remembers from his time in the Ampertal: "The happy and relaxed carnival of the women in Haag".
"Very light-footed" he was once part of the party.
As a "young and attractive travel companion" he was supposed to dress up at the women's carnival.
And he took it quite seriously, this carnival role, the priest remembered and laughed.
In order to be able to implement a graceful feminine gait, he sat down in a café and studied it with the waitresses.
"After that I practiced it at home," said Schauer to the smiles of the audience.
"Together it's okay for me," was his moody summary.

The club flag was made in 1982 by the members Christa Hahn and Anna Ziegltrum.
You would have chosen the fabric yourself and embroidered it.
Numerous events were organized by the women in the 50 years: May devotions at Holzbrünnl in the Weihrinnen district, lectures, excursions, tying herb bushes and decorating the Easter candles.
The Church has also benefited from the energy of women, stressed Marianne Schwaiger.
The bridal pews and some church figures could have been renovated with the proceeds.
According to Schwaiger, the women were involved in embroidering the hunger cloth that decorates the church during Lent, as well as in buying the nativity scene.
The fact that the carol singers carried the blessing into the houses on Epiphany was also organized by the women in the past.
The women meet once a month for the morning service followed by breakfast.
The activities of the women also included tying palm bushes at Easter and reading hours for children during Advent, emphasized the chairwoman.
A special highlight in the calendar is the carnival ball.
Maria Huf, Anna Simak, Christa Hahn, Sonja Schreiner and, since 2015, Marianne Schwaiger have acted as chairpersons for the past 50 years.
It was an honor for her to honor the founding members, revealed the chairwoman.
As a thank you for their many years of loyalty, they received beautiful wooden souvenir discs made by Franziska Daumoser.

A small gift was also given to Sonja Schreiner, Christa Hahn, Dagmar Prohaska, the musicians Jutta and Monika Schwaiger, Helene Wagensonner, Melanie Wimmer, choir director Edeltraud Marin and the district leader of the Catholic German Women's Association, Monika Berger.
This conveyed a blessing to the women of The Hague.
Photo albums, photo and guest books from the past 50 years, which were laid out on the tables, brought back many memories.
