Landsberg – In the first ten minutes against SC Riessersee, the Riverkings didn't cover themselves with glory.
And after that it was too late to turn things around.
SC Riessersee, one of the favorites in the league, made a guest appearance in the Riverkings' last preparation game in the Hungerbachdome.
The SCR also lived up to the role of favorites in the first few minutes.
The old master put the pressure on and mercilessly exploited the scope offered by the HCL.
So it was already 0:4 for the SCR after a short time.
Only then did the Riverkings come into play better, narrowed the spaces and played more physically.
From the second third, the chances were sometimes even on the Landsberger side.
Steven Ipri shortened the lead to 1:4, in the 26th minute Manuel Malzer made it 2:4.
Landsberg put the pressure on and forced Riessersee to take penalties and just before the second break Frantisek Wagner scored to make it 3:4.
Despite good chances, nothing changed in the last third.
Which is why HCL coach Sven Curmann intervened shortly before the end and took the goalkeeper off the ice in favor of a field player.
Without success: The SCR was even able to expand to the final score of 3:5.
The new anthem
After a thoroughly satisfactory preparatory round with four wins from six games, the HCL will start the points round next Friday, September 30th at 8 p.m. with the home game against EV Füssen.
Before that there's an extra: At 7:45 p.m. the new Riverkings anthem will be presented – recorded by none other than Landsberg drummer Specki TD from “In Extremo” and his former band members from OSSB, Martin Fuchs, Olli Miller and Christoph Kantsperger.
Ex HCL player Johannes "Jojo" Hicks, the now internationally well-known author of various television and feature films, Korbinian Hamberger, and also Specki TD contributed the text.
Also on board is the Landsberg ice hockey legend Gerhard Petrussek with a special appearance.
All in all an emotional, rocking anthem with a catchy character, spiced with humor and self-mockery.
The song is called "We are the Riverkings!", The interpreters call themselves "El Laboga".
The season will officially open with the traditional puck drop Landsberg's mayor Doris Baumgartl and TSV-Landsberg player and 60s football legend Sascha Mölders.
