Majestic, the driveway of the Château de la Grange stretches as far as the eye can see and encourages you to set foot on its ground, already tinged with the colors of autumn.
But all you have to do is take a few sideways steps to the right or left and look up to discover large gaps: dozens of trees that seem to have no leaves left.
Like a small graveyard of chestnut trees, dead on their feet, all affected by ink disease.
A microscopic pathogen close to the fungus which moves thanks to water, feeds on the roots and causes their necrosis.
