The successful forest festival this year boosted the cash register of the traditional costume association in Gibensbach.

Chairman Franz Leipfinger was re-elected at the annual general meeting, Werner Aigner received applause.

Taufkirchen

– The Traditions Association in Quellenbach currently has 335 members, and this summer the active ones among them were finally able to take care of the traditions again.

There was dancing, plattering, music and celebrating.

In order to manage and lead the active association, at the first annual general meeting in almost three years, the members elected the board, which now has 15 offices.

Franz Leipfinger, meanwhile also representative for all 18 clubs in the Inn-Salzach area, has held the post of chairman for 16 years. The 66 voters present confirmed him with a large majority for another two years.

"The right way.

We need you as chairman, even longer,” the re-elected deputy Albert Kronseder praised the boss at the end of the almost three-hour general meeting:

Among the many names mentioned, honors for three years were made up for, one in particular stood out: Werner Aigner resigned from his position as secretary for professional reasons after 18 years and received prolonged applause after his detailed review and personal words.

"When I see how many children and young people we have at the moment and look at the outstanding work of the active group, I'm not afraid," said Aigner about the future of the association.

Markus Liebl reported on the current cash position, after “one of the most successful forest festivals” this summer, it is 80,157 euros.

So you can complete the complex stage conversion in the clubhouse.

Lighting technology is still to be purchased, as Leipfinger announced.

In addition, the furniture and the heating are getting old.

Daniel Huber spoke for the children, youth and active groups and recalled the preparations and the erection of the maypole itself, appearances such as the inauguration of the children's home in Moosen or the Taufkirchen folk festival and competitions such as the active prize platters in Burghausen, where he himself took second place, as Franz Leipfinger then emphasized.

Judith Brandl presented the activities of the singing group, the children's choir and the changing music group.

Pandemic conditions had made joint rehearsals difficult or impossible for a long time, but "very nice performances" were still possible, such as at church services.

Johann Müller was remembered several times that evening.

When he died in January 2021, the club could only say goodbye on a small scale due to the Corona regulations.

Four coffin bearers in costume and the immediate family paid their last respects to Müller, who was chairman from 1949 to 1981, was later appointed honorary chairman and was a member of the association for a total of 79 years.
